Ravenslade were Lead Consultant as Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor in a multi disciplinary team that included AHR Architects and WSP Engineers for the RIBA Stage 1 report on this £30m new secondary school commissioned by North Somerset District Council.

The Winterstoke Hundred Academy expansion project is to accommodate 900 students in readiness for the new academic year in 2023 and with infrastructure and space provision to extend the accommodation to1200 students in the future. The brief was to provide an exemplar building of high sustainable standards to reflect that the school would specialise in environmental studies.

The design team prepared a thorough and comprehensive feasibility study with options appraisals to meet the net zero carbon and passivhaus standards as well as the methodology to meet the budget and programme requirements.

The project was approved and went forward with a contractor led solution for the subsequent phases of design and construction.
