Ravenslade provided full Project Management and Quantity Surveying services throughout the construction and handover phases.

The new fire station was designed to meet operational requirements while providing a civic presence in the local community. The provision allowed the service to continue serving Plymstock and the surrounding areas, including the growing communities at Sherford and Saltram Meadow. In addition to the two-appliance bays, the building included operational and support areas for staff, such as equipment storage and servicing areas, a kitchen and mess area, an inclusive lecture room, training facilities, and office space.

The design focused on reducing energy demand and enhancing sustainability, incorporating measures such as a roof-mounted solar PV array, improved thermal performance, and a largely naturally ventilated building. Glazing at the rear of the station was included to support public engagement and create a welcoming connection with the community.
