Ravenslade manages transformation of Exeter’s 1960s Central Library, blending original features with modern design, landscaped plaza, and iconic LED-lit sculpture
Ravenslade provided Project Management services on the complete refurbishment of Exeter’s iconic 1960s Central Library.
The works sensitively transformed the building into a stylish, spacious, and light-filled public space while retaining many of the original features.
The scheme also introduced a new landscaped approach, Rougement Place, creating a pedestrian-friendly environment that could accommodate outdoor events.
A standout feature in the entrance foyer is a striking LED-lit wood and glass sculpture by Westcountry craftsman Will Shakespeare, titled Stack of Books.
