Taunton was chosen as the preferred location for The South West Fire Control and Rescue centre which is a highly sophisticated and bespoke property forming part of the national critical infrastructure programme for the DCLG government.

Summerfield Developments successfully secured the bid to construct this three storey 2700 sq m building on Blackbrook Business Park off Junction 25 of the M5 against strong competition from other locations.

Developed as one of an integrated network of nine centres built across the UK, the building achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating and contains sustainable features such as rainwater harvesting and an intelligent lighting system to meet the stringent environmental standards required.
